House Tour

Okay Sandy, enough!!!! Pllllease no more wind and rain. I'm ready for my sunny cool days back.

So far today we've resorted to making Pretzels, Peanut Butter Pie. And then stuffing faces with said food.

Aubrey had no school today and it's been cancelled for tomorrow as well. She has gone as far as actually wanting to do dishes.

This is after we cleaned out my closet and she claimed some of my old shirts - as you can see above.

We've been quite bored. But I just want to say that bored is a GREAT thing during a hurricane. I'm so thankful to be bored. Thankful that we're not having to sop up a flooded basement or any other horrible things that come along with hurricane weather. I have been sending prayers out and I pray you are safe and warm and cozy in your home this evening as the winds whip and rain pours.

The kids are sleeping in the basement tonight. We are pretty fearful of some trees around our house that we have not cut down yet. So for tonight my babies get to sleep with me!

So, I would like to share my home tonight! If you follow my blog, you know we moved recently and I have yet to give a house tour.

These are assorted pictures, some from when we first came to look at the house and some from when we first moved in.

This is a view of the living room, right before we were about to paint.

We have slooowly been doing some projects around the house. I'm very happy with going slowly. I have realized that my ideas change the longer we live here and the more it becomes 'ours'.

The past few weeks we've been working on a big DIY project in the living room and I cannot wait to show you! Stay tuned!!

A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood

We've just been outside and my goodness it feels fantastic! What amazing weather we are having. Although it has been a dilemma for me every morning waking up and trying to figure out how to dress Aubrey for school. In the morning's it's pretty chilly but by the afternoon it's been around eighty.

Is this your favorite time of the year? I'm not sure if I would classify it as my favorite, I think spring is is the one for me. But I do love October. I looooove it.

It's so beautiful with the changing trees and colorful leaves. The nice cool feeling when you walk outside and realize 'this is the perfect temperature, no need for a jacket but just cool enough to bask in the sunlight without breaking out in sweat'.

We have been busy raking. It's never-ending ! I promise we had raked the entire back yard this past weekend and now it's worse than ever.

Our property is mostly tree's so I guess I had better get used to it and to be honest, I kinda love it. I actually do enjoy raking for some insane reason. It's extremely therapeutic and a nice arm workout.

One of my outside projects that I've been wanting to start is to clear a nice path in the woods. I figured no better time than the present. I'm very excited about it! We have a big yard but the kids and I love walking in the woods so I wanted a nice clear path for us to go walking. I would like to do one all the way around our property.

My hip baby.

My little Power Ranger, wearing his big smile. He always wants me to look around and point out the 'monsters' so he can go beat them up.

He hates shoes...

Loves leaves...

And especially jumping!

Try This at Home Remedy!

It's Frrriiiiddaaayyy!!

Brandon and Emma both have a cold and cough, so we're dealing with various amounts of snotty noses and hacking coughs. It's pretty nasty outside so I'm very happy to stay inside today and cuddle my babies and have some indoor activities.

MMMMM, I'm thinking Hot Chocolate time!!

I also finally tried a home remedy I've been wanting to try for a long time.

I had read that if you rub Vicks Vapor Rub on the bottom of your feet and throw some socks on, it will suppress coughing.

I thought 'yeah, right'. It's seems too simple to be true. So last night when Brandon woke up in the night with an awful, uncontrollable cough I headed to the medicine cabinet and broke open the small bottle of goodness.

IT WORKS!!! Crazy but true, it really does work. I have no idea why or how but I just know it worked and I'm going to the store to stock up! It was amazing, after about 5 minutes Brandon was peacefully sleeping with no coughing.

They are now called the magic socks and they are awesome!

The label says not for use in children 2 and under so I have not tried it with Emma. I may ask the Doctor about it though.

Now... Does anyone have the home remedy for chunky thighs????
