I Have No Self Control & A Mommy Confession

I have no self control...

Okay, this obviously doesn't count since the box is a pretty yellow... OBVIOUSLY.

And everyone knows that if it sits between a fruit and a vegetable it obviously cancels it out...OBVIOUSLY.

On the flip side, this is what I'm making the kids eat.

RABBIT FOOD!

Haha suckas!

The other day I was looking at some things I had written on my refrigerator pad and found this.

If you don't know what Christmas Crack is, click here.

Ummm, perhaps I need to prioritize better...

I had to add a few more to the list ... just for fun of course.

Haha!! Just kidding!

And now... for some Mommy Confessions.

On Sunday Hubby and Aubrey had went to run some errands around town, Emma was napping and it was just Brandon and I hanging out.

Brandon was in the living room and I was in the kitchen sneaking chocolate chips. You know, the baking chips? They look like this:

Am I the only one who buys these to bake with but ends up just eating them by the handful? Please say no...

So there I was in the kitchen eating and by eating I mean shoveling, when Brandon announced he had to go potty. I took a quick scoop and went with him so that I could turn on the light.

So he's going potty, I'm standing in the doorway.

That's when he saw my hand go to my mouth... And he said 3 of the most dreaded words in a Mothers vocabulary.

'What you eating???'

I swallowed and and tried to quickly weigh my options.

Option 1: Tell him what they are and then have to share. (he also had not had dinner yet so I didn't want to ruin his appetite. My appetite on the other hand is still good even after eating a jar of chocolate chips)

Option 2: Don't tell and possibly feel a little guilty.

'Ummm, it's just a carrot.'

'Ohh, I'm done' he says and hops off the potty.

SHEW! That was close I told myself. Almost had to share. I'm thinking this may be the last year I can pull this off with him. Aubrey would have called my bluff in a heartbeat.

Sorry B but one day when you are a Daddy, you will understand. I promise.

So, please also tell me that I'm not the only one who separates their food into 'kid food' and 'Mommy and Daddy food'.

Mommy Confession #2
The other night before going to bed I cleaned up the downstairs, picking up everything off the floor, straightening the couch and all that good stuff. I went to the kitchen and started turning off lights. As I got to the living room I saw something laying next to the couch. A piece of food. I went and picked it up ...

And then ... I ate it.

Was I hungry? NO.

I was tired. So very tired. I didn't even think, I just lifted hand... to mouth.
I know....

I know...

I could not stop laughing about this the following morning. I must have been out of it because I can't even recall what exactly it was.

I was tired people, TIRED. At least that's what I keep telling myself.

New goal for 2012, don't eat off the floor.
I have also realized something about myself from writing this blog. I seem to be a slight bit obsessed with
2 things.

Food and babies.

Dear Hubby, if you want to keep your wife happy just keep feeding her and letting her produce babies.

Haha, he's gonna get all riled up when he reads THAT. Haha, love it. Okay, enough ramblings for today!

How To Make Toilet Paper Roll Wall Art

Okay, I'm about to change your life.

Not really but for realz, you will never look at a toilet paper roll the same way again. If you've been browsing Pinterest 24/7 like I have I'm sure you've seen all the toilet paper roll wall art.

A couple of months ago I tried out my own version.

This is how it turned out.

Kinda sad, I know this. That's why I decided to make a new one. It's so easy!!

Gather as many toilet paper or paper towel rolls as you can. Don't worry if you don't have enough t.p. rolls, all you have to do is get the stomach rot like I did and you will have plenty of empty rolls. Trust me.

After you gather them you will need to flatten them all out.

Okay, grab your scissors and get to work cutting. Now, you can measure these out if you would like to but I just eyed it and made them about 1 inch thick.

All of the tutorials I checked out used glue to hold these together but I'm about to blow your mind because there is a much simpler way. Use a small stapler and things will go a lot smoother. In the end you won't even be able to tell you used staples.

All you need to do is grab two pieces and hold them like this.

Then staple together.

You are going to continue to add pieces until you have something resembling this.

Once you have a star shape like this all you have to do is go around filling in the spaces with pieces. Like so:

Make sense? Now all you have to do is keep going around filling in spaces until you have your desired size.

I ended up running out of rolls so I took down my old wreath and started using the pieces from that.

When you have your desired size you will have something like this.

Once you are done you can either paint your design or leave it plain. I chose to spray paint.

This is what I ended up with.

Gotta say I love it!!

I have a huge wall that I never know what to do with so this has helped to fill up the empty space.

If you want to do your own T.P. design here are a few things you should know:

I used a light color spray paint but I wouldn't recommend it. I had a hard time getting the spray paint to color the t.p. well.

It's not going to be perfect. There are a few places in mine that are kinda funky but when you put it on your wall and look at it as a whole, you wont even notice.

The hardest part of this project is knowing when to stop. It's hard to tell when all sides are even but I just eyed it and it turned out okay.

I love it and think it turned out great. It's so easy that everyone should have their used toilet paper rolls on their wall, especially if it's from the stomach rot because then it will be a constant reminder of how great your life is when you're not spending the entire day in your bathroom.

Have a great weekend!

Terrible Twos With a Dash of Teething

I left the red eye in on purpose!!! They're his moody eyes.

Brandon is moody... and I don't like it because I'm the only one who gets to be moody around here.

Terrible twos, two year molars coming in. I don't know what it is but it's driving us crazy.

Right now he only wants me. He's shunning Daddy, poor Hubby has some serious hurt feelings.

He cries ... a lot. And whines, oh yes lots of whine.

We have conversations like this:

Brandon, here's your peanut butter jelly.

NOO, I don't want that!!! (shakes finger back and forth like a hip hop diva)

Hey Brandon, go sit with Daddy. Mommy is trying to cook dinner right now.

If he had long hair he'd be flicking it right now while he rolls his eyes ( if he knew how to roll eyes).

NOOOO, I don't want to!!! WWWHHHAAAAAA!!!!! (Scrunches face up like a Pekingese)

And don't even think about looking at him the wrong way, or even grazing him by accident. And DO NOT raise your voice, if you do any of these things you are susceptible to at least 15 minutes of crying.

On top of that Emma is teething hardcore right now. She's been gnawing on anything she can get into her mouth. Don't put your face even close to her, you will get gnawed on. Fingers? Forget about it.

I've heard of people rubbing Brandy on babies gums but I think they got it backwards and it's really meant for the parents. Teething babies make me sad, it has got to be the most awful feeling ever.

Ohh, you have a headache??

TRY GROWING TEETH.

Ohh, got the Stomach Rot??

TRY GROWING TEETH.

Ohh, you have to walk 3 miles to school in 3 feet of snow with no shoes on??

TRY GROWING TEETH...

Okay, got a little carried away with that one... Moving on.

I know these are only stages, I'm going to look back in 15 years and wish I could have these days back. Right? Right? RIGHT!

Now... Can I get some Brandy rubbed on my gums??? Anybody?
