Walking

We have been feeling extremely board recently with all this rain. Thankfully today the sun was shining and even though it was a little windy and chilly we needed to get out. I had to make a post office run so I parked and then just decided to do some walking through town. I looove this part of our town, it's so old and beautiful and full of history. I didn't take as many pictures as I meant to... oh well, gives me an excuse to go back soon.

Beautiful old buildings

Pretty window displays

Yummy bakery

Doughnuts for the kids

Can you tell Aubrey was excited about her doughnut??

Beauty

A yellow rose we found along the way...

We Are Sick! And a New Adventure....

We sick yall!! Yes, that's right the kids that I was just bragging about being so healthy are now coughing and barfing and snotting.

It's ten o clock and I just cleaned up barf from Brandon's bed and the floor.

I don't believe this to be from actual stomach upset as much as from the coughing. The kid has a very touchy gag reflex!

So the past couple of days have been full runny noses and coughing. Last night I thought for sure a dog was barking only to realize it was Aubrey coughing. Oops!

Luckily we are not sick enough to stop going to the park. We spent about 4 hours there today fishing and enjoying God's beauty and I do believe it made us feel better to get out.

But what I reeeally want to talk about is my new venture!

I want to start out by saying I LOOOVE to thrift and shop and find awesome things at the thrift store. I just love it. I don't know why but it really has become a hobby of mine to thrift.

I have gotten so many great things and deals and it's just so much fun! I would 100 times rather go to a thrift store than to the mall.

The other thing that I've been doing is VIRTUAL YARD SALES! I can't stop!!! And that has been the true catalyst into my new path!

I have decided to combine my love of shopping and thrifting into a (hopefully) money making opportunity by selling on

EBAY!!!

I'm so excited and wish I would have started so much sooner! The possibility of being able to contribute to supporting our family financially makes me so happy.

If you don't know yet, there is some amazing opportunities to make money on Ebay.

For some reason I never thought I could do it. But I am doing it!! And I love it!!

At some point when I'm not between cleaning throw up and cleaning noses I will be doing a post of things that I'm finding and selling. I can't wait to share it with you all! Have a great night everyone!

Daily Life

Where is the time going? I can't believe we are already half way through April! I love this time of year and especially the weather!

We have gotten spring fever and started a few seeds.

We also planted an Elephant Ear bulb, I'm excited to see how it looks when it pops up.

The kids love watering the plants.

This was the other night after the kids were all asleep. Hubby and I have been having some serious chess battles lately and with the chocolate covered strawberries it's almost as good as any night out...Almost.

This morning was interesting. Aubrey had pictures for soccer at 8:00AM!

Hubby had to work so it was all me today.

Were we there on time???

Uhhh... that would be a no.

I woke up and looked at the clock and it was 7:35. Now, any other morning Brandon and Emma would have been awake and bouncing off walls at 7:00 on the dot. But of course on this morning, they were still sound asleep.

We got dressed, ate some eggs that I cooked in the microwave.

YES I SAID IT, I cook eggs (sometimes) in the microwave. Don't judge me!

We got to the field at about 8:20 and found Aubrey's team, which were all standing together waiting....

For us.

Did I remember money for the pictures?

No.

Was Emma wearing anything but a onsie?

No. But I did bring her an outfit, she just didn't have it on yet.

Was Aubrey's hair brushed?

NO! Who do you think I am?

I completely felt like THAT Mom. You know, the one who never has it together, kids are running wild with mats in their hair. Looks disheveled and about to have a nervous breakdown.

All the while looking at the other Moms who seem to have everything worked out, looking great with brushed hair. Kids standing attentively at their sides.

Oh well, I guess we all feel like that sometimes... Right??

We still had a good time though and we can't wait until next weekend when Daddy will be around to help!

After we had been home for awhile we decided to take a little walk and we found a little treasure.

A little Robin's egg. We put it in a safe place and are hoping to find more.

And lastly, I have to show the cutest little video ever of my sweetness. She is so cute and just this past week she learned a new 'trick'. She's actually been doing it for a few weeks but now she will do it when we ask her to.

She's waiving in case you didn't catch it.

Have a great weekend!!

Make Your Own Butterfly Hair Clip

I saw these extremely cute little butterflies at .... THE DOLLAR TREE!!!

Dollar Tree, I heart you!

Every time I go in there I find something awesome and I'm continually amazed at the things that can be made and sold for $1!!!

When I saw these, I knew I could use them for something so I grabbed them. As I said in my last post about making Pony-O's, I'm really trying to do better with styling my little ladies hair.

So I decided to use them as a hair accessory.

I had these clips that I purchased from Walmart.

The first thing I did was cover 2 of them with white ribbon to hide the metal. I just used a glue gun.

Next, I just hot glued the butterfly directly to the ribbon clip.

And voila! Beautiful! One for each of my sweeties!

These were super easy and very cute. These would be perfect for the little girl in your life!!

How To Make a Pony - O

I've never really been into hair. I was always a tomboy and a pony tail was all I needed growing up. I was also a late bloomer so I really didn't get into that type of thing until my late teens and early twenties and even then it was really basic stuff.

So since I now have 2 girls I figured it's time to channel my inner girlie side and try some new things. I've been doing a whole lot better since this unfortunate incident. I'm actually really getting into it and trying new things.

One thing I started making recently was a Pony-O. These are so simple but very cute!

All you need is:

  • Glue Gun
  • Hair Band
  • Ribbon
  • Scissors
  • Lighter

First you are going to gather your ribbon and then cut them all the same length. I did mine at about 10 inches but I think I'll try them a couple inches longer next time. These did not flop as much as I would have liked. I also think I may add just a few more ribbons.

The next thing is you will need to heat set the ends of your ribbon. This is to keep them from fraying. All you have to do is run the end of the ribbon that you just cut over the flame for just a second so that the heat will bind the ends. That's it!

Next you will start layering your ribbon to make an asterisk type of shape. Start with a thick piece of ribbon for the bottom. As you start to layer one on top of the other you will put just a dab of hot glue to keep them together.

Just keep layering until all of your ribbon is used. Then grab your hair band and put a thick line of hot glue and lay your band on top.

Then add more hot glue on top of the band.

I also added a piece of ribbon to go around so it would cover where I glued and make it look a little more finished.

Let it dry and you are good to go! There are a lot of different variations of the Pony-O out there but this one was so simple and easy. I'll let you know how it holds/stays together. So far so good.

Here's how they turned out. I used red, white and blue so they would match Aubrey's soccer uniform.

I really like them and they turned out really cute. It didn't take a whole lot of time to put them together so that's a plus.

Like I said, next time I think I will use more ribbon and longer ribbon. And also try some different colors and patterns.

Extreme Dieting Tip: Fatten Up Your Hubby

Man, I've been working hard to get rid of this baby weight. Well... I was working hard a few months ago.
Then I just got so frustrated that I gave up. This weight is sticking to me and just doesn't want to let go.

I did Jillian Michaels religiously for months and didn't lose a thing.

I'm not getting too hard on myself just yet because I'm still nursing Emma. Now, I know that there are some women out there who lose weight when they are nursing but unfortunately I don't fall into that category. With all of my babies I have kept on and actually gained a few pounds while breastfeeding. When my first 2 were done with nursing I lost about 15-20 lbs.

So, I'm hoping/praying that the same thing will happen when Emma is ready to wean.

Meanwhile I am so uncomfortable in my own body right now and frustrated that nothing seems to help and I can't stop from being hungry allll the time.

So the other day I'm in the kitchen thinking mean thoughts about myself when I had the best idea EVER!!!!

Why, oh why am I putting myself through this.

Why am I stressing???

There is a simple answer to all of my problems....

Instead of dieting and trying to loose weight....

I'M GOING TO FATTEN UP HUBBY!!!

YES, YES,Yes!!! Why didn't I think of this before!

This will change the world!!!

The chunkier he is the better I look!! And feel!!

I got to work right away and baked a double batch of brownies. I stuffed a bunch of them into a bag to put into Hubby's lunch bag. I also added a Nutter Butter Bar for added sugar consumption.

I've also been making sure to add extra butter to all of his portion of our meals. Now, don't feel too bad for him. We use the real butter not the hydrogenated nasty stuff so .... It can't be too bad for the ol' ticker... Right?

Now usually I avoid the ice cream isle at the store but today I let hubby make a stop and get a box. I scooped out some for the kids and myself and let hubby eat the rest, which was a lot.

Unfortunately I let myself slip during lunch today when I made everyone a salad. At least I made sure he added half of a bottle of Ranch dressing so hopefully that made up for all the healthy stuff.

So far I haven't really seen any fruits of my labor but it's still early on and I know this is a process. I'm committed to this and I know I can do it. In just a few short months Hubby will be really nice and thick and I should be feeling really great about myself!!!

Daily Life

I'm so backed up on updating the little tid-bits of our life but here are a few things that I've had a chance to write down.

Our friend Sean turned the big FIVE! The kids had a great time at his birthday party making bunny ears and superhero masks.

My boy thought for sure he was Spiderman.

The weather has been fantastic and the park is a daily routine for us.

MOPS had their annual Easter Egg Craft and Hunt.

Checking out their goodies.

The Cherry Blossoms in our yard blossomed. It was gorgeous for about two weeks until they all started dropping and it looked like it had snowed. Not to mention covering our cars and I'm still finding petals in the house.

View from the kids room.

Above the front door.

Aubrey bought a bike from birthday money that she recieved. They love going on evening bike rides.

Right now the kids are obsessed with The Power Rangers. It's all I hear about all day long.

This was Brandon's ninja pose.

Aubrey had her first soccer game on Saturday. It was so cute seeing all the little kids playing.

She scored twice and all the kids did a really great job. I love how the emphasis not on the score but on just having fun! She loves it!

Today the big news was that the loose tooth that Aubrey has had for weeks finally came out. It was litterally hanging on by a thread but she wouldn't pull it out and she wouldn't let us do the door slamming routine.

So I did what any awesome Mother would do and told her to let me look at it.

And then I ripped it out with my fingers.

She cried for a few minutes from shock but she was happy after that.

The tooth fairy just visited and left her with some lip gloss!
